Mood Board: Library

Inspiration boards are a good way to layout pattern and scale of items in a room. They allow for one to vary the size, colour, and texture of fabrics on furniture pieces to provide a sense of style for a room. Swap out different styles of desk, chairs, accent tables, etc. to see which you prefer.

Create a “WOW” factor with a brilliant light fixture, this one available through “The Trade”. *Contact a local interior designer for information on to “To the Trade” furniture, accents, area rugs etc. to create your dream room or home.

Inspiration photos of a room help create the ambiance you want to get across to your clients. Look at how they change the style and feeling of a room in the two examples on the left shown below.

Ground the space with a great area rug. *See the change in mood by changing the area rug as shown in the boards below. You can add “Whimsy” with the Faux Zebra Hide Area Rug or a more classic pattern in the Hide Area Rug Oval Pattern in Blue tones - yes this area rug is made of dyed cow hides!

Cozy chairs with an ottoman invite one into the room for reading, relaxing, and lounging. Upgrade the chair with a metal trim on the Lounge Chair and Ottoman to set itself apart from every other chair that is out there. Little details like this add value and create a “One of a Kind” item you would enjoy looking at for years to come.

Adding layers to the room allows the eye to travel from one item to another. I usually start with the area rug and build the room around it. You can start with a different item, a painting, existing sofa, antique piece, etc. (ex. Antique Klismos Chair with Red Leather Seat as shown on boards below). Select one inspiration piece to start with and build the room around it.
